DOI : 10.5281/erj.21787291
Abstract
Certificate
Language is an important medium for conserving and transmitting knowledge, culture, traditions, and values from one generation to another. In India, language transmission has played an important role in promoting the continuity of different traditions, literary heritage, devotional practices, philosophies, and different social practices. Indian traditions have depended on both oral and written systems for the preservation of different languages such as Sanskrit, Pali, Prakrit, Tamil, Marathi, Hindi, Kannada, Bengali, and many regional dialects. Traditional methods like the guru-shishya system, storytelling, folk songs, devotional chanting, and communal interaction ensure the preservation of linguistic heritage. In India, language transmission is not only limited to only communication, but it also acts as a carrier of ethics, historical memory, values, and traditional knowledge. In this conceptual paper, we explain the concept of language transmission , the traditional methods of language transmission, present challenges. and some measures to strengthen linguistic continuity in our modern society. Promoting and preserving language transmission is essential for national unity and sustainable development.

Asst. Prof. Bharti Malik & Miss Afreen Rangrez
DOI : 10.5281/erj.21787415
Abstract
Certificate
The integration of the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) into modern education, as envisioned by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, marks a paradigm shift from rote memorization toward a holistic, joyful, and culturally grounded learning experience. This research explores the pedagogical richness of Bharatiya Parampara, focusing on narrative pedagogy (Katha-Pravachana), toy-based and game-based learning, and experiential practices like Panchadi. By synthesizing ancient wisdom—such as the Panchkosh theory, Gurukul traditions, and Sanskrit Subhashitas—with 21st-century educational needs, this study demonstrates how indigenous practices foster cognitive, emotional, social, and spiritual development.
Key pedagogical interventions identified include the use of Funfables (Panchatantra, Jataka Tales) for moral and pragmatic wisdom, indigenous toys and games (Pallankuzhi, Kho-Kho, Moksha Patam) for strategic thinking and value-based learning, and the Panchadi process for structured experiential engagement. The study further highlights the pioneering work of Gijubhai Badheka, whose Bal-Mimamsa pedagogy champions child-centered, play-based learning that respects the child's humanity and fosters creative thinking. Additionally, the application of Sanskrit Subhashitas provides indigenous frameworks for sustainable resource management and ethical lifestyle practices. The findings suggest that revitalizing these traditional resources not only preserves India’s intellectual heritage but also creates a more inclusive, engaging, and transformative environment that aligns with the needs of the contemporary learner.

In modern education, academic knowledge is frequently emphasized further than moral and ethical development. However, the early times of training are pivotal for shaping children's character and values. Value education helps children learn important qualities similar as honesty, respect, kindness, responsibility, and cooperation. Indian Knowledge Systems( IKS) give a rich source of moral training through ancient text, stories, artistic practices, and philosophical ideas. Concept similar as Ahimsa(non-violence), Seva( selfless service), Satya( Truth), and Dharma( duty) companion individualities toward ethical living. When these principles are introduced in primary education through narration, conditioning, and real- life exemplifications, they help children develop moral mindfulness and responsible attitude. This paper highlights practical exemplifications and classroom strategies that educators can use for primary academy learner .Integrating IKS with modern education can contribute to the development of responsible, compassionate, and socially apprehensive citizens.

India is moving towards the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047,” which means transforming the country into a developed, self-reliant, inclusive, and sustainable nation by the year 2047. In this journey, the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) plays a very important role. The Indian Knowledge System includes ancient Indian wisdom, traditions, education, philosophy, science, agriculture, medicine, yoga, environmental ethics, and cultural values that have guided Indian society for thousands of years. This research paper explains how IKS can become the foundation for sustainable development and nation-building in modern India. Ancient Indian knowledge always focused on harmony between humans, society, and nature. Concepts such as “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah,” and respect for nature promote peace, equality, and environmental balance. Traditional systems like Ayurveda, Yoga, organic farming, water conservation, and community living provide sustainable solutions for present-day challenges such as pollution, climate change, stress, and resource depletion. The paper also highlights the role of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in reviving and integrating IKS into education. The study uses simple language and examples to explain how traditional Indian values can support economic growth, social development, environmental protection, and ethical living. The paper concludes that India can achieve the dream of Viksit Bharat only by combining modern technology with Indian cultural wisdom and sustainable practices. Indian Knowledge System is not only India’s heritage but also a guide for the future development of humanity.

FROM GURUKUL TO GLOBAL CLASSROOMS: RECONFIGURING PUPIL TEACHERS’ BELIEFS THROUGH INDIAN KNOWLEDGE SYSTEMS FOR A SUSTAINABLE VIKSIT BHARAT
Ms. Jyoti , Dr. Neetu M. Shukla, Dr. Savita Kaushal
DOI : 10.5281/erj.21789168
Abstract
Certificate
The evolution of Indian education from the Gurukul system to current global classrooms symbolized a break from the values-based and holistic model to tech-mediated, outcome-driven methodologies. Although education has become an innovation and global competency-focused model, it tends to exclude ethical, ecological, and reflective aspects from education (Sharma, 2011). In what follows, this article critically engages with the potential of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) to revolutionise pupil teachers’ beliefs towards sustainability and the vision of Viksit Bharat. The paper argues that incorporating IKS in teacher education creates more integrous, ethical, and sustainable teaching practices with theoretical perspectives and policy frameworks, such as the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020). It concludes that the integration of traditional epistemologies and contemporary pedagogies is needed to develop reflective educators to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

FASHION WASTE AS A SYSTEMS PROBLEM: ALIGNING STRUCTURAL REFORM WITH SDG 4, SDG 11, AND SDG 12 IN THE INDIAN CONTEXT
Mrs. Renuka Pritesh Kulkarni
DOI : 10.5281/erj.21789211
Abstract
Certificate
Fashion waste is frequently portrayed as the result of excessive consumer buying and careless disposal habits. However, such interpretations overlook the structural dynamics embedded within global production systems. This chapter reframes fashion waste as a systemic outcome of industrial overproduction, accelerated design cycles, speculative manufacturing, and limited producer accountability. By situating the discussion within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production)—the study argues that meaningful reform requires structural intervention rather than consumer blame.
Using a qualitative analytical approach grounded in sustainability education and systems thinking, this chapter examines how overproduction operates in contemporary fashion economies and contrasts these patterns with traditional Indian textile systems that historically embodied circularity, durability, and ecological balance. Case examples including Khadi production networks, the Varanasi handloom ecosystem, and repair-based clothing practices in rural Maharashtra illustrate alternative models rooted in community resilience and material longevity.
The chapter proposes that integrating sustainability literacy into fashion education (SDG 4.7), revitalizing decentralized textile economies (SDG 11.4), and enforcing transparent production accountability (SDG 12.5 and 12.6) are critical steps toward reducing fashion waste at its source. By repositioning fashion waste as a governance and design issue, the analysis highlights the necessity of systemic transformation aligned with global sustainability commitments.

INTEGRATING THE TRIANGLE CONCENTRATION METHOD INTO CURRICULUM DESIGN FOR SUSTAINABLE AND HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT
Asst. Prof. Chhaya R. Shelke
DOI : 10.5281/erj.21789339
Abstract
Certificate
This study explores how the Triangle Concentration Method (TCM), found by Swami Vijnananand, Manashakti Research Center, can be woven into curriculum design to encourage sustainable, holistic learner growth. Holistic development calls for a balance between cognitive, emotional, and physical dimensions. TCM, built on three pillars - temperament, intelligence, and physical health - offers a structured way to achieve this equilibrium. Modern education often emphasizes academic success while neglecting emotional stability and physical well-being. This imbalance fuels stress, lowers learning efficiency, and undermines sustainability. A curriculum shaped by TCM integrates these three dimensions into teaching and learning, creating a more balanced framework. Temperament guides emotional regulation, intelligence strengthens cognition, and physical health supports overall functioning. Aligning these elements in curriculum planning helps educators nurture sustainable learning, sharper concentration, and well-rounded personality development. The study concludes that TCM provides a practical model for designing curricula that foster balanced growth and meet the demands of sustainable education in the 21st century.

DIGITAL SHADOW EDUCATION AND THE EROSION OF ACADEMIC INTEGRITY: A POLICY ANALYSIS OF EXAMINATION MALPRACTICES IN MAHARASHTRA’S PAT FRAMEWORK
Anisha Bhanage
DOI : 10.5281/erj.21789409
Abstract
Certificate
The rapid digitalization of education in India has birthed a "shadow education" sector on platforms like YouTube and other social media. While providing accessible content, this sector has recently facilitated systematic academic malpractice through the leaking of state-level examination papers. This paper investigates the specific case of the Periodic Assessment Test (PAT) under the Maharashtra State Board, where question papers and answer keys for all standards were disseminated on YouTube prior to the examination dates. This analysis based on secondary data identifies specific channels responsible for amassing millions of views on leaked content, explores the policy loopholes—such as the "newspaper-style" distribution model—and illustrates how "false positive" data from compromised exams sabotages state-level pedagogical planning, explores the misalignment of these leaks with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, studies the international impact of the leakage, comparative global strategies for exam security, and the potential of blockchain and AI as technological remedies and importance to reclaim educational integrity. The findings suggest that without a transition to secure digital delivery and the stringent enforcement of the Public Examinations Act 2024, the integrity of foundational learning data in Maharashtra remains at critical risk which will deeply and negatively impact the state’s education reform measures.

THE INVISIBLE GLUE OF THE CLASSROOM: HOW GROUP EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE SHAPES LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS IN GREATER MUMBAI SECONDARY SCHOOLS
Mr. Chittattukara Sheen C. S.
DOI : 10.5281/erj.21789474
Abstract
Certificate
Group Emotional Intelligence (GEI) refers to the collective capacity of a group to manage emotional norms, regulate shared affective states, and sustain productive interpersonal dynamics. Unlike Individual Emotional Intelligence, which is a personal cognitive-emotional capacity, GEI is an emergent group-level property constituted by normative patterns of interaction. This study examines teacher perceptions of GEI among secondary school students in Greater Mumbai (N = 673), using a 25-item structured instrument operationalising Druskat and Wolff's (2001) six-factor model: Perspective Taking (PT), Interpersonal Understanding (IU), Confronting Norm Violators (CNV), Team Self-Evaluation (TSE), Creating an Affirmative Environment (CAE), and Proactive Problem Solving (PPS). Descriptive analysis revealed a moderately high overall GEI mean (M = 3.16, SD = 0.42) with strong internal consistency (α = .87). A statistically significant and large-magnitude gap was found between the highest-scoring subscale (CAE: M = 3.31) and the lowest (CNV: M = 2.85), with a paired t-test yielding t(672) = 20.68, p < .001, Cohen's d = 0.87. Psychometric analysis revealed that CNV demonstrated unacceptably low reliability (α = .41) and failed the AVE threshold (AVE = .354), with near-zero inter-item correlations, suggesting that the four CNV behaviours — exclusion, blame, accountability, and bias — represent culturally disaggregated phenomena in the Indian collectivist classroom context.

DOI : 10.5281/erj.21790017
Abstract

Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines represent the operational backbone of modern software delivery. Despite their critical role, these pipelines remain susceptible to a broad class of runtime failures — ranging from unresolved dependency conflicts to misconfigured environment variables — that demand significant manual intervention and introduce measurable delivery latency. This paper presents SHIELD (Self-Healing Intelligent Engine for Log-Driven pipelines), a novel AI-agent-based framework designed to autonomously detect, diagnose, and remediate pipeline failures without human involvement. SHIELD integrates a multi-layer monitoring architecture with a hybrid reasoning engine that combines deterministic pattern matching with large language model (LLM)-driven root cause inference. Empirical evaluation across five controlled failure scenarios demonstrates a mean time-to-recovery (MTTR) reduction of 74.3% and a first-attempt autonomous fix success rate of 82.6% compared to manual debugging baselines. The framework is implemented atop GitHub Actions and Jenkins with Docker-based execution environments, and is designed as a plug-and-play module requiring no modifications to existing pipeline definitions. These results suggest that AI-augmented self-healing is a tractable and practically deployable strategy for improving DevOps reliability at scale.

DOI : 10.5281/erj.21790717
Abstract
Certificate
The rapid growth of digital technology has significantly increased the use of screen-based devices such as smartphones, laptops, tablets, and televisions among adolescents. While these technologies provide educational and social benefits, excessive screen exposure may negatively influence sleep patterns and overall health. The present study aims to examine the relationship between daily screen time and sleep duration and quality among adolescent students aged 12–25 years. A descriptive survey research design was adopted, and data were collected from 75 students using a structured questionnaire administered through Google Forms. The study analyzed screen usage patterns, sleep duration, sleep quality, physical activity, and stress levels. The collected data were analyzed using percentage, frequency distribution, and correlation analysis. The findings revealed that a majority of students spend 3–6 hours daily on screens, particularly smartphones. A significant proportion of respondents reported sleeping less than the recommended 8–9 hours. The correlation analysis indicated a moderate negative relationship (r = –0.62) between screen time and sleep duration, suggesting that increased screen exposure leads to reduced sleep duration. Additionally, screen use before bedtime was associated with poorer sleep quality and delayed sleep onset. The study concludes that excessive screen use, particularly during nighttime, negatively impacts adolescents’ sleep patterns and well-being. Promoting healthy digital habits, limiting screen exposure before bedtime, and encouraging physical activity can help improve sleep quality among students.

DOI : 10.5281/erj.21790765
Abstract
Certificate
The escalating severity of climate change and resource depletion necessitates a fundamental shift in daily human habits, making life skill education for sustainable living a critical priority. Traditional educational paradigms often rely on passive dissemination of information, which is frequently insufficient to drive long-term behavioral transformation. In response, this paper proposes a comprehensive educational framework that integrates pedagogical strategies with emerging cyber-physical-human systems, such as smart home technologies, Internet of Things (IoT) monitoring, and artificial intelligence-driven recommendation systems. By bridging the gap between theoretical environmental knowledge and practical, everyday actions, the proposed methodology aims to embed sustainability into core life skills. The framework encompasses cognitive learning, practical application through digital nudging, and social reinforcement within inclusive communities. Furthermore, this study outlines a hypothetical evaluation plan designed to measure both immediate resource conservation and the longitudinal retention of sustainable behaviors, ultimately striving to foster a resilient and environmentally conscious society.

DOI : 10.5281/erj.21790851
Abstract
Certificate
This study investigates the relationship between excessive use of social media and sleep disturbances among adolescents aged 13–18 years. In recent years, the rapid growth of digital technology and the increasing popularity of social networking platforms have significantly influenced adolescents’ daily routines and lifestyle habits. Social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Snapchat, and YouTube have become an important part of adolescents’ communication, entertainment, and social interaction. However, excessive engagement with these platforms may lead to several health-related issues, particularly disturbances in sleep patterns.
The present study was conducted using a descriptive survey method with a sample of 100 adolescents selected through random sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire designed to measure daily social media usage patterns and different types of sleep disturbances experienced by adolescents. Statistical techniques such as mean, percentage, and correlation were used to analyze the collected data. The results of the study revealed that a significant number of adolescents spend more than three hours daily on social media, especially during late-night hours. The analysis also indicated a strong positive relationship between excessive social media use and sleep disturbance, suggesting that increased screen exposure, late-night usage, constant notifications, and social media addiction contribute to poor sleep quality, daytime fatigue, and reduced concentration among adolescents. The findings highlight the need for awareness regarding responsible social media usage and the importance of maintaining healthy sleep habits among adolescents.

DOI : 10.5281/erj.21790986
Abstract
Certificate
The rapid growth of digital food platforms has reshaped how individuals discover and prepare meals, yet most existing recipe systems remain confined to text-based keyword search and lack meaningful visual understanding or adaptive personalization. This paper presents Snap Cook, an AI-driven cooking assistance platform that identifies food items directly from images and delivers personalized recipe recommendations through an integrated pipeline combining computer vision, hybrid machine learning recommendation logic, and rule-based dietary filtering.
The system employs a fine-tuned Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) trained on over 12,000 labeled images from the Food-101 dataset augmented with custom samples, achieving an image recognition accuracy of 94.2%. A content-driven recommendation engine built with Scikit-learn matches recognized dishes to a curated recipe catalog, while a rule-based dietary filtering layer handles vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergen-based constraints with 97.1% filtering accuracy. The full-stack implementation uses Flask (backend), React.js (frontend), PostgreSQL (database), and OpenCV (preprocessing), containerized via Docker for reproducible deployment.
Experimental evaluation across five functional modules yields a system-level mean accuracy of 92.1% and an F1-score of 92.1%, outperforming baseline text-search platforms on visual discovery and personalization benchmarks. Limitations including dataset scope, real-time nutritional API integration, and offline accessibility are acknowledged, and a roadmap for future enhancement through generative AI, augmented reality guidance, and multilingual support is presented.

DIGITIZATION AND SUSTAINABILITY
Tanishka Ajaykumar Kadam, Nirmal Rahul Bhalerao & Himansh Dayanand Mishra
DOI : 10.5281/erj.21791091
Abstract
Certificate
The rapid expansion of digitization—the conversion of physical systems, documents, and processes into digital formats—has transformed economies and governance structures globally. However, this transformation presents a dual challenge: while digitization reduces material consumption and improves efficiency, it also increases energy demand, electronic waste, and infrastructure-related emissions. This paper examines the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the context of digitization and sustainability using a secondary research methodology based on recent global and Indian datasets.
The findings indicate that digitization, when combined with AI, significantly improves resource efficiency. For instance, paperless governance systems in India have reduced administrative costs and paper usage, while AI-enabled logistics optimization reduces fuel consumption by 10–15% (International Energy Agency [IEA], 2023). However, these benefits are offset by increasing energy consumption, with global data centers consuming approximately 460 TWh of electricity in 2023, and AI expected to account for nearly 20% of data center demand by 2028 (McKinsey & Company, 2023).
The study concludes that digitization alone does not guarantee sustainability. Its environmental impact depends on infrastructure, energy sources, and policy frameworks. Sustainable digitization requires integrating green AI practices, renewable energy, and inclusive access policies.

DOI : 10.5281/erj.21791111
Abstract
Certificate
Smartphone addiction has emerged as a significant concern among adolescents, with Grade IX students being particularly vulnerable due to pivotal developmental transitions. This study situates the problem within Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), applying the Pancha Kosha model from the Taittiriya Upanishad and the pedagogical principles of the Gurukul tradition to analyse adolescent digital well-being. A descriptive cross-sectional survey of 150 Grade IX students from urban and rural schools used a validated 23-item instrument across six dimensions: Compulsion, Lack of Attention, Forgetfulness, Depression and Anxiety, Disturbed Sleep/Hunger, and Social Withdrawal. The overall mean addiction score was 74.07 (SD = 15.33), significantly above the theoretical midpoint, with 52.7% classified as High Addiction. Socioeconomic status (SES) was the dominant predictor (η² = 0.899), while gender and location differences were not statistically significant. IKS-informed interventions, particularly Brahmacharya, Chitta Shuddhi, and Gurukul-style mentoring, are recommended as sustainable frameworks for digital well-being among low-SES adolescents in India

PHILOSOPHICAL FOUNDATIONS OF THE INDIAN KNOWLEDGE SYSTEM AND THEIR ROLE IN REALIZING VIKSIT BHARAT: A THEORETICAL AND CRITICAL ANALYSIS
Bharati Prakash Sasane & Dr. Bhagyashree Dudhade
DOI : 10.5281/erj.21791246
Abstract
Certificate
The Indian Knowledge System (IKS) embodies a multidimensional intellectual heritage rooted in philosophical inquiry, experiential learning, and ethical reflection. In the contemporary vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India), there is an increasing need to revisit and reinterpret these foundational ideas within modern socio-economic and educational frameworks. This paper critically examines the philosophical underpinnings of IKS through the lenses of classical Indian schools of thought and contemporary theoretical frameworks. Drawing upon Advaita Vedanta, Nyaya, Samkhya, and Buddhist epistemology, alongside modern perspectives such as decolonial theory, constructivism, and integral humanism, the study explores how indigenous knowledge paradigms can inform sustainable development, ethical governance, and holistic education. The paper argues that integrating these philosophical principles into policy and practice can foster a development model that is not only economically robust but also culturally rooted and ethically sound. Viksit Bharat means more than high GDP. It means a country that is self-reliant, fair, and proud of its culture (NITI Aayog, 2023). But many current development ideas come from Western thought. These may not fit India’s history and values. So, we need to look again at the Indian Knowledge System (IKS). IKS is India’s own way of thinking that mixes science, ethics, and spirituality (Kapur, 2021).

TOWARD AN INDIC METADATA MODEL: A NAVYA-NYĀYA GROUNDED FRAMEWORK FOR STRUCTURED KNOWLEDGE REPRESENTATION
Rajarshi Das
DOI : 10.5281/erj.21791285
Abstract
Certificate
The paper demonstrates the ability of an Indian school of logic and philosophical system, Navya-Nyāya, to comprehensively act as a conceptual framework for an Indic metadata model. It demonstrates how Navya-Nyāya’s precision in organising relational logic, epistemological rigour, and linguistic formalism can inform the structure, semantics, and functionality of metadata systems. The study investigates fundamental notions such as 'sambandha' (relation), qualifier–qualification structures, 'avacchedaka' (limitors), and inferential methods, aligning them with modern metadata models like RDF triples and layered data frameworks. The paper suggests a philosophically sound, very detailed way to express information by using Navya-Nyāya's theory of relations, which includes direct, indirect, and occurrence-exacting relations, in the construction of metadata. The resulting model improves accuracy, semantic clarity, and compatibility, fixing problems with how metadata is used now. The research concludes that Navya-Nyāya serves as both a historical intellectual resource and a robust conceptual framework for contemporary information systems, especially in scenarios necessitating intricate relational mapping and interpretative precision.

DOI : 10.5281/erj.21791325
Abstract
Certificate
The Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) constitute the foundation of India's community health service delivery network under the National Health Mission (NHM). In North Maharashtra — encompassing districts such as Nashik, Dhule, Nandurbar, and Jalgaon — ASHA workers act as essential intermediaries connecting rural and marginalized communities to the formal healthcare system. While these workers have played an integral role in advancing Sustainable Development Goals including Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3), Gender Equality (SDG 5), and Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10), they remain socioeconomically vulnerable due to low and uncertain earnings, inadequate social security, and poor career prospects. This empirical study examines the socioeconomic status of ASHA workers in North Maharashtra using both primary and secondary data sources across parameters including remuneration, educational qualification, household poverty, health coverage, occupational challenges, and community recognition. The study argues for policy reforms aimed at transforming ASHA workers into formally recognized employees, consistent with the objectives of Viksit Bharat @ 2047 and the UN SDGs @ 2030.

DOI : 10.5281/erj.21791357
Abstract
Certificate
This research study focuses on how poverty affects a child’s education. The topic is “Beyond Books: How Poverty Shapes a Child’s Educational Journey.” In this study, I collected data from 20 pupils using a questionnaire and also included one case study of a 13-year-old girl who is not able to read and write.
The findings show that many pupils are interested in education, but due to financial problems, lack of awareness, and family responsibilities, they are not able to continue their studies. Some parents understand the value of education, but they are not able to support their children due to poor economic conditions. At the same time, some parents are not aware of the importance of education.
The study also shows that lack of awareness about government schemes is a major issue. Some pupils receive benefits like free books, uniforms, and scholarships, but many are still not aware or are not eligible.
This research highlights that awareness, support, and proper guidance are very important. If we organize educational programs and require B.Ed students in teaching, it can help these pupils. Education is crucial for the development of the country, and every child should get equal opportunity.

DOI : 10.5281/erj.21821086
Abstract

According to the National Education Policy 2020, holistic development refers to the overall growth of a child, including physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being. In contrast to the traditional education system, which prioritizes marks, grading, and comparison among students, the modern holistic education approach emphasizes the development of the “whole child.” This includes participation in various activities such as physical health, sportsmanship, and experiential learning, along with the enhancement of intellectual abilities like memory, intelligence, and critical thinking. Additionally, emotional development, often referred to as emotional quotient (EQ), plays a crucial role in helping students understand and manage their emotions and interact effectively with others. This perspective not only focuses on academic achievement but also emphasizes overall growth, understanding, and well-being. Thus, holistic education aims to create balanced individuals who are capable of contributing meaningfully in different areas of life.

Adolescence is a pivotal stage of human development marked by rapid physical, emotional, and cognitive changes. The age group of 14 to 17 years, known as middle adolescence, is especially important for brain development. During this period, the brain undergoes structural and functional changes that influence thinking, decision-making, and emotional control. This abstract paper aims to explain how the adolescent brain develops, how it affects behaviour and learning and what factors influence this development. The paper is based on ideas from educational psychology books and neuroscience research, presented in simple and original language. It highlights the importance of proper guidance, supportive environment, and effective educational practices for healthy brain development.
Adolescence is an important stage of life, especially between 14 to 17 years, when the brain develops rapidly. During this time, different parts of the brain grow at different speeds. The emotional part develops faster, while the thinking and control part takes more time. Because of this, adolescents may show strong emotions and sometimes act without thinking.
At the same time, their thinking ability improves. They can learn new things easily, think deeply, and understand complex ideas. This stage is also influenced by family, school, and friends, which play a big role in shaping behaviour.
This paper explains how brain development affects thinking, emotions, and behaviour in adolescents. It also highlights the importance of proper guidance and a positive environment to support healthy development.

WOMEN AS CUSTODIANS OF SUSTAINABILITY: INSIGHTS FROM THE INDIAN KNOWLEDGE SYSTEM FOR A VIKSHIT BHARAT
Dr. Priya Aher
DOI : 10.5281/erj.21822325
Abstract
Certificate
The Indian Knowledge System (IKS), emerging from Vedic philosophy, Dharmic ethics, and indigenous cultural practices, offers a deeply integrated understanding of sustainability grounded in harmony between human life and nature. Within this civilizational framework, women have historically functioned as custodians of ecological wisdom, social resilience, and ethical living. This paper explores the role of women in sustainable development through the philosophical construct of Prakriti, representing nature as a dynamic feminine creative force balanced by Purusha, the principle of consciousness. Such an understanding reflects an ancient ecological worldview that aligns closely with contemporary sustainability discourse.
Adopting an interdisciplinary approach combining education, psychology, and cultural studies, the research examines how traditional ecological knowledge transmitted through women’s practices—agriculture, food systems, water conservation, seed preservation, caregiving, and community leadership—provides actionable pathways toward sustainable nation building. The study further analyses psychological dimensions of environmental consciousness shaped through intergenerational learning and culturally embedded identities.
The paper argues that the realization of Viksit Bharat requires moving beyond purely Western developmental models and reclaiming indigenous wisdom systems where women act as knowledge keepers, educators, and sustainability leaders. Drawing upon qualitative analysis of Indian philosophical traditions and grassroots examples of women-led ecological practices, the study demonstrates that empowering women through education grounded in Indian Knowledge Systems generates a multiplier effect enhancing community resilience, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable livelihoods. The paper concludes by proposing educational and policy interventions that integrate women’s traditional knowledge into contemporary sustainability frameworks.
